John became CEO of TMI Australia at the start of 2010, following the exciting new direction the organisation is embarking upon with the creation of a new board of directors.
With a background in Science, John established his successful career within the healthcare industry. Following his Masters of Business Marketing at Monash University, John led and transitioned a number of multinational organisations within the Healthcare Industry. Most recently, John was the Vice President for a US based multinational organisation with a strong presence throughout South East Asia. Prior to this, John was the MD for a leading healthcare company, specialising in medical instruments, medical system and IT integration. During this time, John embarked upon a strategy of organic growth that saw the organisation transformed from a good market position of 27% market share to one of market dominance capturing over 75% market share in just over a four-year period. These strategies were later adopted by the organisation globally.
In addition to his role as MD, John was globally prominent in the organisation in the areas of strategic planning, strategies for competitive advantage, go to market and key account development sales processes. John developed an account development strategy which he was invited to consult to other organisations in, and which is still used globally by many large organisations. Whilst healthcare has been the major industry of interest, John also has significant expertise in Agribusiness and in particular the dairy industry where he was the Global Marketing Director for a locally manufactured and developed device for “on the farm” milk monitoring.
John is also passionate about the continuous improvement process where he has consulted for several organisations both here and internationally in the areas of lean processing and especially transaction process improvements..
